The Scriptures about the shedding of innocent blood and 

what happens to the nation or people that do that, and 

how GOD responds to that are many. Some of them are written:

estranged this place and have burned incense in it unto 

other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have 

known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this 

place with the blood of innocents; they have built also 

the high places of baal to burn their sons with fire for 

burnt offerings [child sacrifice] unto baal, which I 

commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into MY 

mind; therefore behold, the days come saith THE LORD 

that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor the 

valley of the son of Hinnom but the valley of slaughter. 

And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem 

in this place, and I will cause them to fall by the 

sword before their enemies; and by the hands of them  

that seek their lives; and their carcasses will I give 

to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the 

beasts of the earth. And I will make this city desolate; 

and an hissing; every one that passeth by shall be 

astonished, and hiss because of all the plagues 

thereof." Jeremiah 19:4-8
And again, "because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, 

and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the 

force of the sword, in the time of their calamity, in 

the time that their iniquity had an end, therefore as I 

live, saith THE LORD GOD,I will prepare thee unto blood, 

and blood shall pursue thee, since thou hast not hated 

blood [on your hands?] even blood shall pursue thee. 

Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off 

from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. And 

I will fill his mountains with slain men; in thy hills 

and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers,shall they 

fall that are slain with the sword. I will make thee 

perpetual desolations; and thy cities shall not return, 

and ye shall know that I AM THE LORD." Ezekiel 35:5-9;
and again,'because thou hast spoiled many nations, all 

the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of 

men's blood and for the violence of the land, of the 

city, and of all that dwell therein; woe to him that 

coveteth an evil covetousness to his house,that he may 

set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the 

power of evil! Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by 

cutting off many people [from life] and hast sinned 

against thy soul.For the stone shall cry out of the wall 

and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. Woe to 

him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a 

city by iniquity! Habakkuk 2:8-12
