What would Jesus think of America?
by Gloria Poole [gloriapoole®] that is also on a page of my original website at :http://gloriapoole.com
I am so lucky
that is what people say.
because I was born in the USA.
But let me tell you, like it is.
The USA is not the haven
that some people think.
Here, people are only people
if they are "wanted"
or if they are rich.
If they believe in God,
they are second-class citizens,
not entitled to have an opinion
in Politics, they say.
"separation of church and state"
is the mantra of the pagans.
Does God live in America?
Where?
Where does HE live?
Not in the Churches,
with their sleep-in coed parties,
And their basketball games,
And their women's groups,
and their sealed shut doors.
How would Jesus get in,
if He didn't know the caretaker?
Would He do the supernatural?
and roll the stone away again?
Would He be taken before the Mayor
and then to the Governor?
Would HE stand trial again?
And what would He be accused of,
this time?
inciting a riot?
Condemning abortion?
Protesting homosexuality?
How would Jesus be
Crucified today,
in Modern America?
Would he be injected
with lethal drugs?
Would it be done
secretly,
to keep the people
from knowing that HE
is an innocent man?
Maybe the press,
would report it
after all,
but only after
spinning it.
Or would it be public?
Inciting the rabble-rousers,
and the Jews,
those anti-semitic shouters,
just as in Jesus's day?
Would Jesus choose?
Washington?,
to be crucified?
or how about Paris?
or maybe even Rome?
Where would be
The Place of The Skull?
And what would Jesus
be offered today,
when He cried, "I thirst"?
Maybe alcohol-based drinks?
Maybe Coke?
What words would Jesus speak?
when HE wanted to tell His
disciple, to take care of
His mother?
"Hey Dude, can you put up with
my old lady for a few days?"
Shocking words,
Jesus would never utter!
He showed no disrespect,
He turned the other cheek.
He prayed for His enemies.
Jesus, King of King,
and Lord of Lords!
The example of love
in Action and Deed.
Savior,Friend, Redeemer.
Shed His blood,
for my sins,
and for yours too.
Dying in agony,
all alone.
Why?
I know I did not deserve it.
I suspect you did not either.
Why?
Why did He shed
His blood?
What compelled Jesus?
to set an example
of love-in-action
that none of us
can live up too?
Because the world then,
was just as
the world now,
in Amer-i-ca,
land of the free.
"Free" to sin,
"free" to be perverse
"free" to kill babies,
"free" to steal,
and "free" to deceive.
But not really free,
to talk about God.
or pray in public.
or protest killing,
as a "right".
What human said?
"freedom's just another word,
for nothing left to lose?"
Jesus said,What shall it profit
a man, to gain the whole world
and lose his own soul?
What is the price of a soul?
Jesus's blood!
What is the price of liberty?
Vigilence, commitment,
courage and faith.
But wait!
Does Jesus ask us to die?
Or to live?
For sharing the faith,
and teaching the truth.
Jesus said, "I and The
Father are ONE";
"IF you have seen Me,
you have seen The
Father."
And He cried,"ABBA,
Father," when He prayed.
This mystery!
Of God in the flesh,
who lived and died,
and then lived again.
Nailing to the Cross,
my sins,
and yours.
Shedding HIs blood,
pouring out Himself
for me:
The Sacrificial Lamb
So I can
spend eternity
in heaven
with Him,
seeing His face,
and hearing Him
say,"well done,
thou good and
faithful servant.
Enter into your
rest.
And HE wants you too!
You sinner,
you perverted man,
you adulterer,
you aborter of babies.
HE wants you!
to confess your sins.
And be forgiven.
And take your place;
In His book of Life.
And I?
I want that too!
Please repent.
And be saved
from eternal
damnation.
For your own sake,
not mine;
your salvation does
not depend upon me.
thank goodness!
But upon the mercy
and the Love,
of The ONE TRUE GOD,
who died in your place;
and is ready to forgive.
Seek Him now,
while He may be found;
today is the day of
salvation;
if you hear,
harden not your heart.
Pray and ask,
and repent,turn from
all your sins,
and He will forgive.
all your evil words,
all your greed,
all your evil beliefs
washed into the sea,
of God's forgetfulness.
And HE will give
you Peace,
not as the world gives
but only as He can.
And welcome you
into His Kingdom.
